If you’re like many people, you probably have trouble keeping your bathroom decluttered and organized. With all the toiletries and other items that you use, you might find it difficult to keep everything in order if you have limited space on your bathroom counter or in your drawers. Fortunately, there are better ways to organize your bathroom so that everything will be easier to store and find.

1. Add Some Clever Shelving and Racks

More shelves and racks in your bathroom will give you extra room for your grooming products and other bathroom items. A series of small shelves can be attached to your walls to hold towels, soap, and facial and bath tissue. Racks that stick to walls can work great in different parts of your bathroom and even on the backsplash in your shower. There are even racks that can be suspended from walls and showerheads that may work great in your bathroom.

2. Use Drawer Dividers

When you go to find a brush, a skincare product, or some fragrance in a drawer, you might have to dig through a jumbled mess of other items just to try to find what you need. Drawer dividers can solve this problem by keeping each drawer more organized. These dividers split the insides of drawers into different sections, and each section can be designated for a certain type of product. You can find dividers that come in different sizes and materials to match drawers of any size.

3. Get Some Hooks

Some of the bathroom items that you use can be hung from hooks so that they’re out of the way and always easy to find. Hairdryers, curling irons, and scissors are just some of the items that can be placed on hooks when they’re not in use. You can install some magnetic hooks on your walls that won’t harm any wall material and can be repositioned or removed with little effort. Some mirrors are also capable of being placed on hooks so that you don’t have to constantly hold them while you’re trying to groom. Even hairpins can be placed on small hooks.

4. Consolidate Your Toilet and Sink

Your toilet and bathroom sink might be taking up more space than is necessary, and you can get a toilet and sink combo unit installed so that you’ll have more room. Some units feature an L-shaped basin vanity with a small square-shaped tankless toilet that’s designed for maximum space efficiency. Many of the preassembled one-piece units include solid surfaces and basin tops. You can even find units that are specifically for righthanded or lefthanded people. These units can be especially practical in small bathrooms.

5. Include a Freestanding Linen Storage Cabinet

If you’re tired of using space in your clothes closets to hold your towels and washcloths, a freestanding cabinet may work well in your bathroom as long as you have enough floor space. You can get a cabinet with sliding doors so that you’ll have an easier time opening the cabinet to retrieve linens. Extra rolls of toilet paper and other bathroom supplies can be put in the cabinet as well if you have enough room. If you don’t want to buy a new cabinet or have one custom-designed to hold your linens, you might be able to use an old dresser or armoire for the purpose.

6. Use Plastic Storage Totes for Bathroom Toys

If you have children who enjoy playing with bathroom toys at bath time, you can store these toys in clear plastic totes so that they’re always easy to find. Storing toys in these totes can also keep the toys out of the bathtub when they’re not in use so that you won’t have to step around them when you’re trying to take a shower. Plastic storage totes with holes can be hung from magnetic hooks along the wall so that your kids will always have easy access to their toys whenever it’s time to play. Plus, the holes in the bags can drain the water from wet toys and help the toys dry better.

Your bathroom doesn’t have to be a mess. By putting these organizing tips and tricks into action, you can give yourself some extra space to move and breathe in your bathroom without having to contend with so much clutter.
